did you know a group of otters are called a romp? well, now you know!
also, sea otters don't rely on fat for protection. instead, they rely on their incredibly dense fur! they have 600,000 to 1,000,000 hair follicles per square inch!
otters have a greater lung capacity compared to similar-sized land animals; sea otters can stay submerged in water at around 5 minutes at a time while river otters are able to hold their breath for 8 minutes!
